Some Yukon public schools are collecting, using, and disclosing student images and videos on internet platforms, including social media, as part of their outreach with parents and the community. This audit found that the Department did not have the authority for these actions, nor did they meet their obligations under the Access to Information and Protection of Privacy Act or their own regulation.

The Complainant requested information on immediate and long-term outcomes that led to an applicant's successful bid for project funding from the Yukon Government. The investigation focused on what constituted personal information and what constituted an unreasonable invasion of a third party's privacy.
The Complainant requested all GPS collar data for Yukon North Slope grizzly bears between 2004 and 2010. The Department refused to disclose the records, citing that this information could result in damage or interfere with conservation of the Yukon North Slope grizzly bear population.

A person made a complaint to the Information and Privacy Commissioner (IPC) alleging that a breach of the Health Information Privacy and Management Act (HIPMA) had occurred because a physician, Dr. Armando Heredia, left the Yukon without securing a successor custodian for the patient records within his custody or control, the location of which are unknown, and failed to notify anyone of their subsequent location.
